Chelsea was first arrested at 19……………… for a crime she did not commit.  Chelsea had never been arrested, never had a prison record and had never been a drug user.

Chelsea was not involved in the murder, was not at the house where the murder was committed. Did not know about the crime.

Chelsea at the time had long blonde hair that……….. as her brother said, “she was always shedding in his car.  However they found no evidence, no DNA to put Chelsea at the scene.  Do you really think she could have been there, but not a strand from her hair be left behind.   No DNA whatsoever.

Susana, known for her rebellion, whose DNA was all over the place, received a lighter sentence to testify against Chelsea.  Susana changed her story a number of times.  Could not seem to get the story the same as the one she told before.  Susana has confessed to the brutal murders.  (You wonder could someone in her right mind do such a thing?  The couple were shot and then stabbed up to 21 times.)  At one point, Susana wrote a letter to Chelsea’s mom, stating that Chelsea was not guilty, but when offered a lighter sentence for her testimony changed her story.  Susana had been arrested before and was known for using drugs.

Reports have stated most murders are committed for drug money.

Chelsea received the death sentence at 21 yrs of age.  And has been on death row for 2 yrs.  Susana after confessing to the murders received life in prison.

Chelsea came from a very loving family.  Her father……….. former military had raised his children with very high morals.  Money had never meant a lot to their family.  They stuck together and lived moderately.  But always happy they had each other. The greatest loss to the family had been when her father died three years before from a heart attack.  Then the pain from Chelsea’s arrest and conviction.

Chelsea was very involved in school.  She helped the trainers for the football team, bandaging and helping anyone who needed help.  She was always quick to help anyone needing her.  She was favored by many of her teachers.

Chelsea always bubbly and laughing, encouraging everyone she met.  The youngest in her family. She was sure to get you laughing.  Chelsea loved her dogs, her friends, but most of all her family.

Chelsea now spends her time on death row drawing and writing.  Trying to understand the circumstances life has handed her.  Dreaming of a day, when she can be back with her family.

Chelsea’s trust is totally in God.  Drawing strength from knowing God loves her and does know what is going on in her life.  The only good that has come out of this situation is the awareness that we need and depend on God.  Knowing a relationship with God, she never knew before.

Chelsea’s appellate lawyer Robert Ford has found many flaws in Chelsea’s previous trial.  He is pushing for a retrial or changing her sentence to life.  We are all praying for a retrial.

Chelsea would not plead guilty to a crime she did not commit, thinking the justice system would protect her.  But it failed her.

The Question is…………..Can you really put someone on death row for a crime there was no evidence the person even committed.  Only testimony from the murderer………….who benefited from the testimony.

Apparently…………but hopefully you cannot keep her there.
